Ursprünge - Origins - Origini

Tallin präsentiert das Projekt:

The Baltic Sea: yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Directions of our work

I. The Development and Origin of the Baltic Sea:

  • its age;
  • development;
  • influence of glacier;
  • forming of landscape;
  • changes of life.
II. Ecological problems of the Baltic Sea, including such points as
  • level of development of the Baltic Sea countries;
  • reasons of ecological displacement;
  • nature saving work:
  •
  • to keep in touch with organizations delivering information which help customers to be acknowledge about marketing. To help customers to buy "nature-friendly food";
  • special attention should be paid to closed cycles in technological processes, using water;
  • to give investments for pure technologies. To pay attention to purifying of sewage water in sugar and electronic industries.
Here, in Estonia we visited Lahemaa Reserve where the glacier influence on landscape forming is seen and observed quite clearly.

Besides, very interesting scientific material was collected and selected about the Baltic Sea origin. Now we have planned visiting the Nature Museum.

We got much additional information about Baltic countries at the lessons of economical geography and geography of Baltic states.

Last year after watching the film "Ecology of the Baltic Sea" we divided into groups (businessmen, ecologists, journalists etc.) and we had a game. During this game we cleared up the reason of ecological worsening and what ordinary people could do.

As a result, we were given the tasks for our summer holidays: to study the ecological situation on the main Tallinn beaches – in Kakumyae, Vyana-Yisu, Pirita, Klooga, Vysu.

With the support of the East Europe Project, a water treatment chemicals factory is under construction in Tallinn. A Finnish-Estonian joint venture has been set up to run the plant, which will significantly improve purification of Tallinn’s drinking water and sewage, and ensure the availability of hydrochemicals.
